Habitat starts hunt for agency to create pounds 5m pan-Euro work

Habitat, the furniture retailer, is reviewing its pan-European ad account, estimated to be worth pounds 5 million.

account, estimated to be worth pounds 5 million.



The business is currently held by WCRS in the UK and Lowe Alice in

France.



It is understood that Habitat is using the AAR to find a new agency.



A company spokeswoman confirmed the review and said a decision was

expected in six to eight weeks.



The agency hunt is being conducted by Richard Millar, Habitat’s group

marketing director for Europe. The media account, held by Mediapolis, is

unaffected.



Habitat, which has 100 stores in the UK, appointed WCRS at the end of

1996 after a pitch against BST BDDP (now part of TBWA GGT Simons

Palmer).



Habitat is the latest in a string of furniture retailers to review its

advertising account. DFS hired Young & Rubicam earlier this month,

Furniture Village reappointed Osprey after a three-way pitch at the

start of this year, and Courts appointed Lowe Howard-Spink last year.
