Hasbro's departure sees Burkitt's Hoare take chairman role

The Burkitt DDB managing director, Jo Hoare, has been promoted to the role of chairman as part of a restructure, after the toy maker Hasbro moved its £10 million creative account to its sister agency BMP DDB without a pitch.

The deputy managing director, Julian Calderara, who was previously the managing director of Court Burkitt before its merger with Griffin Bacal to form Burkitt DDB in June 2000, has been appointed as managing director.

The Hasbro team includes the creative director, Kent Shively, the art director, Newy Brothwell, and the UK & European regional account director, Helen McDermott. They will relocate to BMP.

"We've come to the end of the earn-out period following the merger and it has been amicably agreed to bring in a younger management team," Hoare said. "I like international business and a chairman position at Burkitt DDB will give me the free time to develop that."
