Haymarket coup as BBC sells Eve title

Haymarket Publishing has bought the women's glossy Eve from BBC Magazines and plans to make it the flagship title in a new women's interest group.

The sale of Eve - Britain's fastest-growing women's monthly - is the result of the BBC's commercial review last year. The corporation pledged to sell any products that didn't link directly with its core programme remit.

All Eve staff will transfer to Haymarket, whose consumer titles include Stuff and FourFourTwo.

Since its launch in 2001, Eve has seen circulation growth every year.

Last year, the title saw year-on-year growth of 14.4 per cent to 150,069.

The Haymarket Group managing director, Eric Verdon-Roe, said: "We are excited to acquire such a successful title with the entire publishing staff on board."
