Haymarket lures King from Reed Business Information

Chris King, the man responsible for creating Reed Business

Information’s centralised selling unit, is to join Haymarket

Publishing.

King will become production director at Haymarket on 31 March. His

replacement at Reed Central Sales, which houses Reed Business Inserts

and Display, is Vic Bunby, group sales director of Reed Farmers

Group.

Bunby will continue to oversee sales for the Farmers Group but will take

over the running of Reed Central Sales’ cross-selling unit.

He is looking for a full-time senior sales manager to run the

department, and a business manager to handle direct marketing, reprints,

inserts, online display and research.

King oversaw Reed Business Inserts and set up a centralised display unit

with business development manager Sue Shimmin (Media Business, 24

January).

The department pulled in a pounds 50,000-plus deal with Action 2000 at

the end of last year, with ads placed in Doctor, Electronics Weekly,

Contract Journal, Commercial Motor, and Travel Weekly.

The unit is undergoing a reorganisation but Bunby said: ’We’ve had an

incredibly positive reaction. We will do some substantial business in

the next couple of weeks.’
