Henley to head up Classic FM nationally

Classic FM has appointed Darren Henley as its new station manager to head up the brand nationally.

As well as the radio station, Henley will oversee the management of Classic FM TV, the Classic FM Website and Classic FM Enterprises. Henley will report to Ralph Bernard, the executive chairman of GWR Group.

Bernard said:  "Darren has been with Classic FM since 1992 and has consistently played a central role in the success of the station so far. With his knowledge of all aspects of the Classic FM brand and our business, Darren is the ideal leader to take the station forward."

Henley added: "Classic FM has a unique position in the hearts and minds of British radio listeners.  Having been involved with the station since its earliest days on air, I am now looking forward to the next chapter in our development.  The team of people working at Classic FM are among the most creative and innovative anywhere in broadcasting. Together, we are committed to bringing great programmes to people across the UK."

Darren Henley joined Classic FM in its launch year of 1992 and has been the station's managing editor since 2000.
