HHCL and Partners and its affiliated media strategy agency,

Michaelides and Bednash, have won the task of relaunching the life and

pensions company, Pearl, after a three-way pitch.

Pearl chose HHCL and M&B after a pitch against Impact FCA and DMB&B.

The appointment is part of a two-year strategic project. Pearl has yet

to finalise its budgets or media strategy.

The two agencies will work on developing an internal and external

marketing communications strategy for the financial services company, as

well as a fully integrated advertising campaign as part of Pearl’s

relaunch.

John Simmonds, Pearl’s marketing general manager, said: ’We’ve picked

HHCL because of its breadth and depth of thinking and its track record

in helping many other companies manage change. HHCL demonstrated a very

good understanding of our business and the way we want to take it

forward.’

Minnie Moll, HHCL’s head of new business, said: ’We’re at our best

working with companies on the point of change. There is a new team at

Pearl with great ideas, loads of energy and exciting ambitions. We are

delighted to be involved in leveraging the heritage and competitive edge

that Pearl has, using our 3D approach and a full range of marketing

tools.’

Tony Regan, M&B’s managing partner, added: ’This is about getting the

strategic thinking right before deciding on a media strategy.’
