HHCL's Mildenhall joins TBWA London

TBWA/London has poached HHCL & Partners' head of account

management, Jonathan Mildenhall, to become one of five managing partners

as it creates a new group structure.

Mildenhall, who leaves HHCL after two years, will work alongside fellow

partners Gavin Thompson, Deborah Kerr, Matt Shephard Smith and Jayne

Barr as part of a group structure reintroduced by the chief executive,

Garry Lace. The group system had been phased out when Lace and Johnny

Hornby were appointed to joint managing director roles at the agency 18

months ago.

A management board is also expected to be reintroduced at the agency,

with the five partners all taking seats on it.

Lace said: "I've been after Jonathan for over a year and so I'm

delighted someone of his calibre has agreed to join our team. He's one

of the industry's rising stars."

Mildenhall was first approached by Lace and Hornby six months ago. A new

offer was made following TBWA's management restructure. "I believe in

the momentum that is currently at TBWA," said Mildenhall.

"The new management line-up is one of the strongest in the industry and

the position that I'm going to gives me definite executive

responsibility, which I feel is right for me to take at the moment."

Mildenhall began his career as a graduate trainee at McCann-Erickson in

1990. He moved to Bartle Bogle Hegarty in 1992 and spent three years at

Lowe Howard-Spink prior to the merger with Ammirati Puris Lintas,

heading Vauxhall and worldwide Smirnoff accounts.
