M&C Saatchi is reuniting the copywriter, Paul Hodgkinson, with his

former art director, Andy McKay, five months after their partnership

ended at TBWA Simons Palmer.

Hodgkinson’s arrival from TBWA this week follows M&C Saatchi’s hiring of

McKay in April. The revived team will work mainly on the British Airways

business.

The pair, best known for their work on Nike, Goldfish and LDV, became

acting creative directors of the then Simons Palmer Denton Clemmow and

Johnson in April 1994 after the departures of Mark Denton and Chris

Palmer.

They were given the jobs permanently three months later, after

Hodgkinson, who had joined from Lowe Howard-Spink earlier in the year,

was appointed to the board.

Three months after Simons Palmer merged with TBWA, Hodgkinson and McKay

were named as two of six joint creative directors. Only a week later

McKay left to join M&C Saatchi where he has been partnering Tony Barry

and the agency’s joint creative director, Simon Dicketts.

Hodgkinson resigned soon afterwards and has been freelancing at Leagas

Delaney, having rejected the offer of the creative directorship of

Australia’s Campaign Palace.

Hodgkinson and McKay will have a small number of teams reporting to them

as a result of changes within the creative department.
