Hollinger Telegraph New Media’s search engine UKmax has hired 24/7

to handle online advertising sales.

UKmax was recently relaunched and is embarking on a promotional drive,

with below-the-line marketing handled by Mediator.

24/7 will offer banner campaigns, online sponsorships, e-commerce and

direct marketing opportunities to advertisers. The business was

previously handled by rival sales house Real Media.

UKmax specialises in providing UK-specific searches, thus cutting down

on the amount of irrelevant material users receive when they type in

words or phrases. Its content channels include sport, entertainment,

shopping, travel and money.

Griselda Billington, client service director of 24/7, said the site’s

redesign offered ’improved functionality and a better look and

feel’.

She added: ’UKmax is one of the UK’s top search engines. Each channel is

ideally placed to generate great results for advertisers.’

Hollinger - which owns The Daily Telegraph - runs sites for all its

major newspapers, while its Hollinger Telegraph New Media subsidiary has

taken stakes in various web companies (Media Business, 20 September).
