Homebase's first Christmas campaign since 2015 highlights the downside of festive furnishings.
The spot begins as a woman puts the final touches on her Christmas tree. She stands proudly at the frame of the door, admiring her living room’s elegant-yet-festive decor, before her child runs past to add a finishing touch of her own to the tree. Mum’s face drops as a borderline Satanic "angel" made of cardboard hangs in the middle of the tree, prompting the ad's tagline "let the festivities begin".
The work was created by Dave Henderson and Guy Bradbury, and directed by Andrew Gaynord through Minds Eye. The media agency is Havas Media.
