Hotline: Group of tobacco companies begins High Court challenge

A group of tobacco companies has begun a High Court challenge to the Government's "Draconian" and "disproportionate" restrictions on point-of-sale advertising under the legislation that outlawed tobacco promotion, claiming they are effectively banned from informing consumers about their products. Their application for a judicial review is being opposed by the health secretary, John Reid.
