Hotline: Ofcom expected to announce extra funding for Channel 4

Ofcom is expected to announce extra funding for Channel 4, to come from the BBC licence fee, of around £40 million a year from 2012. Its report on public service broadcasting, due in September, is also expected to recommend a reduction in ITV's PSB commitment but will rule out selling a chunk of BBC Worldwide, the BBC's commercial arm, to Channel 4 to cover its funding shortfall.
