HOTLINE: Profits at RCD1 slid by more than 50 per cent

Profits at Richard Desmond's media holding company, RCD1, slid by more than 50 per cent according to Companies House figures for 2002. Profits fell to £8.9 million from £20.8 million the year before. Turnover at its publishing and broadcasting arm, Northern & Shell, rose by 9 per cent but profits were hit by the write-off of an £8.7 million loan.
