HOTLINE: Reuters records first-ever loss as public company

Reuters has warned it may not see revenues rise until 2004 as this week it recorded its first-ever loss as a public company. The chief executive, Tom Glocer, revealed a pre-tax loss of £80 million for the six months to 30 June, against a profit of £227 million for the same period last year.
