Hotline: Sky launches vitriolic attack on Ofcom

Sky, which on Wednesday sealed a further three years of live Premier League football rights in a £1 billion-plus deal, has launched a vitriolic attack on the media regulator Ofcom, accusing it of showing "serious flaws" and reaching "perverse conclusions" in its consultation on the pay-TV market.

Sky called on Ofcom not to introduce greater levels of regulation to cover its supply of premium content to rivals. Other broadcasters, including Virgin Media and Setanta, have welcomed Ofcom's consultation.
