Hotline: Tony Ball favourite to become chief executive of ITV

Tony Ball, the former BSkyB chief executive, is now the favourite to be appointed as chief executive of ITV. The broadcaster is close to making a decision after Simon Fox, the chief executive of HMV, dropped out of the selection process.
