Robert Downey Jr, the world’s highest-paid actor, is fronting a new campaign for the mobile-phone company HTC. The work, which was created by the WPP agency 171 Worldwide, will run online, on TV and in cinemas, and launches today (Thursday) with a two-minute spot. The campaign is based on the idea that HTC stands for anything you want it to. In the ad, Downey Jr suggests different things the brand name could be short for, such as Humongous Tinfoil Catamaran and Hipster Troll Carwash. It was written by Nathan Dills and Jeff Heath, art directed by Dennis Lee and Euan Au, and directed by Bryan Buckley through Hungry Man.
