Pile has been chief marketing officer for more than a year and has, according to L’Oréal, "accelerated the transformation of the marketing function… across all brands and divisions". He is active industry-wide, sitting on the ISBA Council, and holds strident views about "worrying areas within the media world", such as ad-blocking. Although an eager social-media user "both professionally and personally", Pile adds that his "personal foray into Snapchat was short-lived".
