BT, Britain's biggest online advertiser, has appointed the independent digital media agency i-level to handle its pounds 4 million online media buying account.
The appointment comes after a five-way pitch, which was narrowed down to a final shoot-out between i-level and MindShare's agency, M Digital. I-level will handle all BT's online buying across divisions including BT Talk and BT Internet.
I-level is one of the largest online buying and planning agencies in the UK, with clients including Vauxhall and Umbro.
I-level replaces New PHD's digital agency, PHDiQ, on the BT business.
BT's online activity has included banner ads and sponsorship deals to date.
BT is in the process of deciding whether to change its advertising, which features ET. It is also looking at a restructuring of its business in a bid to improve its performance.
