i-level, the online media agency, has been elected by the IPA council as the first new media member of industry trade body.
Andrew Walmsley, chairman of i-level, commented: "We want to bring a new level of professionalism to interactive business - joining the IPA is an important part of that drive."
Launched in April, the agency is now the largest buyer of online media in the UK, billing over £1m a month in web advertising alone.
John Raad, IPA director for Media Services, said: "A key priority of the IPA is to encourage best practice in all aspects of interactive new media, from creativity, research and industry standards to new training initiatives. I'm delighted that i-level has joined the IPA to help lead this process."
Walmsley has already been a major contributor to the IPA's new media policies. Until recently he chaired the Digital Marketing Group, which is now part of the IPA under the chairmanship of Alan McCulloch.
