iMediapoint, the online auction house, has appointed its first
director of sales.
Gary Perry joins the company this week and will be introduced to
agencies as ’the face of iMediapoint’.
Perry has 17 years’ sales experience in radio and TV, and has worked for
iMediapoint on a consultancy basis since April.
The former sales director of London News Radio was made redundant last
year when GWR purchased the station.
Perry said: ’After 17 years in the industry, people know who I am.
iMediapoint now has two-thirds of the radio industry posted on the site
since I started consulting for the company.’
Perry started out in media sales in 1983 as a trainee sales executive
He left to join TV-am in 1988 and was promoted to group head in
His first position in radio was as group head for Media and Airtime
Sales, the sales arm of Capital Radio.
In 1995, Perry joined Classic FM as group head. After a spell at Live TV
as deputy sales director, he left to join LNR as sales director.
Separately, iMediapoint has posted its first inventory with the capacity
to hit a pan-European audience.
MTV and VH-1 have taken advantage of the new audience by posting
sponsorship and airtime deals on the site.
These are a ’scene package’, which consists of dance music programmes
and airtime slots for VH-1’s live performance series Storytellers.
