iMediapoint, the online auction house, has appointed its first director of sales.

iMediapoint, the online auction house, has appointed its first

director of sales.

Gary Perry joins the company this week and will be introduced to

agencies as ’the face of iMediapoint’.

Perry has 17 years’ sales experience in radio and TV, and has worked for

iMediapoint on a consultancy basis since April.

The former sales director of London News Radio was made redundant last

year when GWR purchased the station.

Perry said: ’After 17 years in the industry, people know who I am.

iMediapoint now has two-thirds of the radio industry posted on the site

since I started consulting for the company.’

Perry started out in media sales in 1983 as a trainee sales executive

for Central.

He left to join TV-am in 1988 and was promoted to group head in

1990.

His first position in radio was as group head for Media and Airtime

Sales, the sales arm of Capital Radio.

In 1995, Perry joined Classic FM as group head. After a spell at Live TV

as deputy sales director, he left to join LNR as sales director.

Separately, iMediapoint has posted its first inventory with the capacity

to hit a pan-European audience.

MTV and VH-1 have taken advantage of the new audience by posting

sponsorship and airtime deals on the site.

These are a ’scene package’, which consists of dance music programmes

and airtime slots for VH-1’s live performance series Storytellers.
