TSMS has hired an unknown as its chief operating officer in a move
that coincides with the departure of three senior members of staff.
The United News and Media-owned TV sales house has appointed Adam
Rhodes, a former Procter and Gamble marketer and currently the managing
director of a business consultancy in the Midlands, effectively to take
over the managing director responsibilities recently vacated by Jerry
At the same time, Ted Bather, TSMS’s marketing director who was widely
tipped for the role, has tendered his resignation.
The broadcast director, Mike Lench, and the marketing controller, Laura
Pope, are also understood to be leaving. Lench is moving to a
consultancy role with S4C, while Pope is taking up a marketing post at
Hill, who has taken over as the chief executive of TSMS, said Bather’s
departure was unconnected with the appointment. ’It’s something Ted’s
planned for some time,’ he said.
Hill said Rhodes had a sterling track record, having worked with
blue-chip clients such as PepsiCo. Rhodes will work with Hill to
strengthen TSMS’s business operations.
