Initiative Media has revealed a new UK structure and expanded its
team in preparation for taking on the pounds 90 million Peugeot Citroen
media account next year.
Initiative has hired around 30 new people since the start of September,
made four board appointments and relaunched the research function to
create the new role of strategic researcher.
Pippa Glucklich is promoted from media planning manager to media
director, Simon Worthington and Helen Shannon become strategic planning
directors and Ilker Shakir becomes deputy broadcast director. Another
media director is being sought from outside the company.
Danny Goldman from Motive becomes TV buying manager, Alan Levy from BBJ
Media Services and Charmaine Oakley from Equinox join as media planning
managers. Four more posts are still to be filled.
Many changes were sparked by Initiative’s coup in the Peugeot Citroen
media pitch in July, although the company has been re-engineering since
Phil Georgiadis took over as chief executive in 1995.
Georgiadis said: ’As well as fine-tuning our proposition, our success
has provided an opportunity to reward existing staff as well as
recruiting bright young talent.’
The research department is being redefined to create the new function of
strategic research planner, a more client-focused research role leading
to two new appointments: Julia Williams, from the research company,
BMRB, will work with Howard Wincott.
Phillip Walker, Initiative’s research director, said: ’Research should
be at the front end of the process, really getting involved with our
clients’ brand development.’
