- Saatchi & Saatchi has been appointed by US insurance giant Provident Companies to its $20m creative advertising account.
The Chattanooga, Tennessee, based company which specialises in disability insurance appointed the agency following a four month review process that involved nine different agencies.
The provident pitch was led jointly by Jennifer Laing, North America chairman and chief executive officer, and Tod Seisser, the recently appointed chief creative officer New York.
The win represents the latest in a series of wins for Saatchi & Saatchi which has witnessed a resurgence in New York.
Since January the agency's billings have jumped by more than $120 million. Two weeks ago the agency was appointed to handle the US advertising for German beer Beck'. Earlier it was award responsibility for Procter & Gamble's Oil of Olay and Tag Heuer watches.
According to Laing: "This was a very competitive pitch. It demanded keen insight and understanding as well as a break through creative solution. It also enabled us to apply our experience in building brands to a new category."
