Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), the UK intelligence and security organisation that works closely with MI5 and MI6, has struck a one-month deal with Massive, Microsoft’s in-game advertising firm, to run a campaign promoting careers in the civil service.
Recruitment ads will run from the start of November on PC and console games on Massive’s network, in a deal brokered by recruitment agency TMP Worldwide.
GCHQ works principally with the Ministry of Defence, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, MI5 and MI6 as well as law enforcement authorities.
Last month research from the Internet Advertising Bureau found that three out of four gamers hold a positive view over in-game advertising.
