I can’t quite make my mind up about this one. The main service
offering - the Listings facility - can be used to check your week’s ITV
viewing by region. It works well, with snappy programme synopses that
are expanded upon in the genre sections. The best of these is CITV.
Sport isn’t bad either, although the Formula One section seems strangely
muted.
Other areas are patchy - the Movies section was empty! The design is
pleasant enough and it’s easy to navigate given the depth of content,
but there’s something unsatisfying about the total experience. It comes
down to what I expect from a TV site. I want it to deliver comprehensive
listings across all channels - after all, I’m not going to visit ITV,
BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5 online to decide my night’s viewing. I’ll
pick up a paper, thanks. Overall a reasonable first effort, but more
thought about user needs is necessary.
