INTERACTIVE: Meadowhall Shopping Centre

A less interesting picture on a home page you couldn’t wish for - a kind of turquoise, rendered, 3-D birdcage that screams: ’Come shop with us.’ But wait, what’s this? Click the cage and lo! The Meadowhall Shopping Centre car park. Delightfully shot, but nevertheless dull in the extreme. Click on the access button for a menu of the site’s features - none of which gives you the chance to buy anything, which is strange for a shopping centre’s Website. What you do get is pretty, if rather pointless, with the QuickTime VR stuff ruling the technology-for-technology’s sake roost. See the people eat in the restaurant! See the people use the escalator! See the people pixelate horribly when you use the zoom feature! Oh, and don’t be fooled by the movie section: it’s not what’s on at your local flea-pit, it’s the Meadowhall TV ad in four formats. Why? You may well ask.
