This site looks awful, hasn’t had a graphic designer anywhere near
it and isn’t that clever technologically - but it’s still fantastic.
It provides a spotlight for voiceover artists and if, like us, you are
useless at remembering the names of actors and actresses you have used
before, then it’s a godsend. Simply type in an accent you want, the age,
sex and speech impediment you desire and it will give you a choice of
people who can do it. But the really brilliant thing is you simply then
click on that person’s name and you can hear a demonstration of the
voice - no need for voiceover tapes or bikes across town and you won’t
turn up at the studio to find out you’ve got Enwright Tel doing them
all.
Presumably, you then simply book the artists online. This site unfussily
showcases the Web’s unique advantages in a straightforward, helpful way.
Shame about the Equity strike.
