Interflora enters discussions about £2m media account

LONDON - Interflora, the chain of independent florists, is in talks with media agencies with a view to moving its £2m account.

The news follows the appointment of the former B&Q marketer David Standing to oversee the appointment of a creative agency. Standing is carrying out the review in conjunction with the AAR.

Media Connections is the incumbent on the media brief.

Interflora has faced increased competition from the supermarkets and other outlets such as Marks & Spencer and Thorntons.

The most recent press campaign from Interflora came from Cambridge-based The Company. It courted some controversy because it used straplines such as "floral sex" and "tit elation".

Interflora is a non-profit making body representing 2,000 independent retailers in the UK and more than 60,000 internationally.
