Duckworth Finn Grubb Waters has strengthened its management team,
promoting Charlie Dawson to managing director and Michael Finn to chief
executive.
Dawson, a former Campaign Face to Watch, will take on responsibility for
the day-to-day running of the agency, freeing up Finn and the agency’s
chairman, Gary Duckworth, to spend more time with clients.
Dawson was promoted to deputy managing director in 1996. He joined
Duckworth Finn in 1992 from Saatchi & Saatchi where he worked on
Campbell’s Foods and BP.
He was the account director in charge of launching Daewoo, now the
agency’s biggest account, in 1994 and will continue to run the Daewoo
business in his new role.
That part of his job will now extend to Europe following the agency’s
appointment in October to handle Daewoo’s first pan-European task.
Dawson’s existing responsibilities for overseeing account management go
to Phillippa Jameson, the agency’s new head of account management, who
was appointed to the board last month (Campaign, 16 October).
Finn said: ’Charlie has made an enormous contribution to the agency’s
success during his time here and his promotion is thoroughly deserved.
In his new role, he will help lead the agency, ensure that we have the
right resource available and run some big chunks of business.’
