- A new internet shopping guide, Hoojit.com, launches next week which puts individual products rather than stores at the heart of search results.
The venture is being launched by internet millionaire and former Telinco boss, Chris Matthews. Hoojit promises to find any type of product consumers are looking for from 1,000's of online stores.
Developed by Matthews and his team in Cheshire, the Hoojit shopping guide compares products by price, brand, shop, feature, and even see the available colour and size.
Unlike other services, the Hoojit shopping guide, via a keyword search function and a comprehensive directory structure, narrows the retrieved list down to specific products that the user is looking for rather than presenting a simple list of web sites for shops that need to be individually searched.
Matthews started Telinco in 1997 with £16,800, growing turnover to an estimated £30 million a year by providing innovative connection services to ISPs. He sold the company to WorldOnline in January, 2000 to concentrate on developing and launching hoojit.com.
