Independent on Sunday editor Janet Street-Porter’s taste for all
things modern is reflected in a series of supplements devoted to the
subject of interior design and the modern home which are to be published
with the newspaper.
The series launched with Inside in the 21 November issue and carries ads
for homes and design companies such as Kitchen Magic, Apple iMac,
Shelvax and Sony.
In a promotion with Amazon.com, both The Independent and The Independent
on Sunday are offering readers a pounds 10 voucher to buy books or CDs
online.
Readers need to collect four tokens out of the seven to be printed from
20-26 November to qualify.
The October ABC figures released last week revealed a month-on-month
increase of 16,000 copies, nearly seven per cent, in The Independent on
Sunday’s sales. The title now has a 9 per cent share of the Sunday
quality market, its highest share since August 1998. Its stablemate, The
Independent, recorded an increase of 8,000 copies giving it a nine per
cent share of the daily quality market, its highest share for two
years.
Independent News & Media chief executive Brendan Hopkins commented:
’There have been significant improvements in both titles which are
reflected in the circulation figures. We intend to announce further
substantial investment early in the New Year.’
