IPC reshuffles publishing duties at men and music division

LONDON - IPC Media has announced a raft of management changes to its Ignite! division, publisher of NME, Nuts and Loaded.

Paul Cheal, formerly publishing director of IPC's marine portfolio, has been appointed publishing director of music magazines NME and Uncut. Cheal joined IPC as a publisher in 1999.

The move coincides with a restructuring of Ignite!'s publishing portfolio into two groups, music and men's lifestyle.

Eric Fuller, previously group publishing director for Nuts and NME, will be group publishing director for Nuts and Loaded.

Elsewhere, Andy Goldsmith, formerly ad manager for Nuts and NME, has been appointed display ad director, while Clair Porteous, Ignite! group marketing manager, is to become head of marketing for men's lifestyle.

The news comes one week after the January to June ABCs. IPC's men's magazines did particularly well despite a tough market, with Nuts up 11.4% year-on-year to 306,802 copies and Loaded up 5.4% year-on-year to 232,001 copies.
