Island FM advises shareholders to accept substantial bid

- Guernsey radio station, Island FM, has announced that a substantial offer has been made for the company by a local newspaper publishing group and that the board is writing to shareholders recommending acceptance.

The bid has come from Tindle Newspapers, which publishes over 80 regional newspapers.

Island was launch in 1992 as a joint venture between a consortium headed up by Kevin Steward and Radio Investments. It became a radio investment subsidiary in 1995.
