ITN signs deal with 40 US stations

ITN has been commissioned to produce a new programme, World News, by a group of stations led by Thirteen/WNET, New York's largest public station.

The half hour programme, which will be anchored by ITN presenter Daljit Dhaliwal, begins transmission on 2 November and will run each weekday night.

World News will be broadcast to 38 per cent of American households.
