iTouch, Independent News and Media’s supplier of news and
information to mobile phones, has begun a search for a UK ad agency to
create its first global branding campaign.
The company, which is a preferred supplier to a number of mobile
cellular operators, is holding meetings with a number of London-based
creative and media agencies this week.
The brief will be to help iTouch become the leading provider of access
to the internet and other services to mobile phone users.
iTouch operates in six countries, including South Africa, Australia, the
UK and Ireland. It plans to take its brand to the US and the Far East
later this year.
The campaign will run in its existing markets.
Independent News and Media has appointed Merrill Lynch to advise on a
proposed flotation of iTouch. The pounds 300 million float is expected
to take place later this year and the proceeds will be invested in the
development of iTouch.
