ITV secures Lindemans for William and Mary sponsorship

The third series of ITV1’s William and Mary drama will be sponsored by Australian wine outfit Lindemans, as part of the brand’s ongoing £3m deal with the channel.

The six-part series will launch on Sunday 17 April and the deal with Lindemans is the second time a sponsor has been signed, after insurance group Standard Life’s coverage of the second series.

William and Mary, starring Martin Clunes and Julie Graham, scored highly in the ratings for the second series, with an average of audience of 8.5 million viewers.

The deal is the fourth for the wine brand following similar sponsorship packages signed with ITV1 for Doc Martin, also starring Martin Clunes, Rosemary & Thyme and Distant Shores.

Amy Thomson, Lindemans senior brand manager, said: "ITV dramas are hugely popular – and the new series of William and Mary looks to be no exception.

“Our continuing relationship with ITV is a reflection of Lindemans increasing popularity and presence in UK households.”
