iXL fuels European expansion with senior appointments

- iXL, the acquisitive US based new-media company, has underscored its rapid European expansion plans with the appointment of three senior directors to UK and European positions.

Shawnee Ogebjer takes up the newly created post of European vice-president in business development, in iXL's media and entertainment group. Ogebjer joins iXL from Moonfire Inc, a global digital distribution network for live audio and video on the internet of which she was a founder.

Pradeep Upadhyay joins as senior vice president for strategic consulting & e-commerce. Pradeep was previously at Andersen Consulting, where he was a senior manager for strategic services in Europe.

The third new arrival at iXL is David Trewren, who joins as sales and marketing director for its UK and European. Trewren was formerly the regional manager for UK & Ireland for the Fiserv InformEnt business division. Prior to that he spent two years at Netscape.

According to Steve Smith, head of iXL's European operations, "These new engagements signal important developments within iXL. IXL continues to offer its clients the same products and levels of professionalism demanded by our US customers and we are looking to reproduce our US success in the UK and across Europe. We believe that these appointments will help us achieve this goal".

iXL, which is headquartered in Atlanta Georgia, has offices in Berlin, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Denver, Hamburg, London, Los Angeles, Madrid, Memphis, New York, Norwalk, Richmond, Rome, San Diego, San Francisco, and Washington DC.
