Jackson wins senior job at Hall & Partners

Vanella Jackson, a former planning director at the now-defunct Bates UK, is poised to take on a senior management role at the research company Hall & Partners.

Jackson is expected to take up the position of chief executive EMEA.

The appointment follows the sale of Hall & Partners to Omnicom earlier this year for an undisclosed sum.

During her 16 months at Bates, Jackson was responsible for the agency's eight-strong planning department, while also heading the agency's £340 million Sky TV account.

She was one of 45 members of staff to be axed last September in the countdown to the agency's absorption into the WPP network.

Previously, Jackson spent four years at Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO as a board planner and was the co-author of the agency's case study on the Government's rear seat-belt safety campaign, which picked up four stars at the 2000 IPA Effectiveness Awards.

After launching her career in 1981 at Hedger Mitchell Stark, she went on to work at Young & Rubicam, Bartle Bogle Hegarty and Woollams Moira Gaskin O'Malley.

Jackson will work alongside Marilyn Baxter, the current Hall & Partners chairman and a non-executive director of COI Communications.

Jackson was unavailable for comment as Campaign went to press.
