Jeremy Taylor, the former business development director of Tequila
Payne Stracey, is joining the direct marketing agency, MBO Solutions, as
The agency has been without a managing director since last year when the
incumbent, one of the agency’s founders, Paul McCarthy, left the role to
become a freelance strategic consultant.
Taylor’s brief is to raise the agency’s profile and pull in more
heavyweight clients. MBO has Royal Mail, Nationwide Building Society,
Iveco Ford Trucks and GNER among its clients. An initial goal will be to
get a car account on board.
Taylor was at Tequila Payne Stracey, in its various guises, for nine
years. He joined Option One in 1990 and went through the past two
mergers - first with Tequila, then with Payne Stracey. Taylor departed
earlier this year after a management reshuffle.
’After a long and rewarding period with Option One and Tequila, this is
exactly the challenge I was looking for,’ Taylor said. ’Nine years is a
long time in any job, and it was time to think about other things.’
MBO was launched in 1984 and was part of the Lopex Group, which in turn
was bought by Havas in July. MBO is now Havas’s third dedicated direct
marketing agency, after Evans Hunt Scott and Archibald Ingall
Taylor added: ’This is a great opportunity. MBO has great clients, great
work and makes money. I now have to make it more exciting.’
