Jimmy Nelson "The preservation robot" by JWT Amsterdam

Worried that globalisation is making the world the same all over? Photographic artist Jimmy Nelson is, which is why he has unveiled a robot to make the internet more culturally diverse.

"The preservation robot", created by J Walter Thompson Amsterdam, is being touted as the first autonomous technology to tackle the erosion of cultural diversity that is down the spread of Western culture on the internet.

The robot, which was switched on live on stage at the SXSW festival on 9 March, continuously places a myriad of images of indigenous culture into the open spaces on the internet.
