John Lewis marketing chief made redundant

LONDON - Gill Barr, the marketing director at John Lewis, has been made redundant.

The move comes as the retailer looks to reduce the size of the management board.  

Barr, who will leave John Lewis on 3 April, joined the company from Woolworths in June 2007, where she was the acting marketing director.

Andy Street, the managing director, said: "I am very grateful for the way Gill has established a professional marketing function within John Lewis. I am confident we will build on this legacy and wish her well in her future."
