John Lydon attacks Anchor's New Zealand origins in new Country Life ad

LONDON - John Lydon, the former Sex Pistols frontman, has attacked the butter brand Anchor for being foreign in a new ad campaign for Country Life.

The campaign, created by Grey London, will run on radio and in national newspapers up until 23 May.

The print ads feature an image of Lydon accompanied by the strapline: "Anchor's from New Zealand."

Underneath the picture, the caption reads: "So?! I buy Country Life cos I think it tastes best."

Lydon first began starring in ads for Country Life last October. In his first TV spot, he travelled around the UK extolling the British virtues of the product.
