The constellation is located next to Capella, the sixth brightest star in the sky, and it can be viewed by looking to the north.
The British-born beer brand is offering members of the public the chance to own a slice of the constellation, so long as they fulfill a particular set of criteria.
Those with an ordinary name, who impress the John Smith's team by showcasing a special talent, could be granted ownership of a star, and have it named after them.
Ifeoma Dozie, brand manager at Heineken said: "We want to quite literally make stars of those people who, like John Smith’s, are ordinary only by name, but have extraordinary talents, and reward them with a prize like no other.
"We can’t wait to see the entries coming in. What ale lover wouldn’t want their very own piece of the first-ever pint glass shaped star constellation? It’s definitely one to talk to your mates about in the pub."
The constellation was identified and designated by astronomers at the International Star Registry.
