Ogilvy & Mather has hired Jonathan Hall as its UK business
development director, as part of a continuing overhaul of its
Hall moves from the financial services specialist, Barnes Vereker, where
he has been the business development director since the end of last
year. Before that, he held the same position at Publicis for three
His appointment fills the second of three new-business positions created
by the agency’s newly appointed chairman and chief executive, Paul
Simons (Campaign, 30 July). The restructure follows the departure of
David Muir, the agency’s former new-business director, who has gone to
do an MBA.
Hall will report to Simons, who now oversees the business development
Andrea Giacobbe has moved internally to run the newly created
international client development unit as part of the restructure. And
the agency is still seeking someone to run a third division, which will
seek to extract more business from existing clients.

Before joining Publicis, Hall worked for ten years in a variety of sales
and marketing roles in asset management.
