J. Walter Thompson has been appointed to handle the £5 million launch for Conde Nast's Glamour magazine, beating rival agency M&C Saatchi to the business.
Glamour, already a successful lifestyle title in the US, will launch in the UK this spring. With a £5 million marketing budget, publisher Conde Nast aims to establish a readership of over 200,000 in it's first year.
Simon Kippin from The National Magazine company has been picked as publisher while Jo Elvin, editor of New Woman Magazine, has been lured from Emap to edit the magazine.
JWT hopes to make Glamour appeal to a wider audience, attracting readers who wouldn't normally buy a glossy magazine.
