Paul Keenan, executive publishing director of Emap Elan, is to take
over from the managing director, Sue Hawken, who goes on maternity leave
at the end of June.
Hawken will return to Emap later this year, but said she had ’no idea at
this stage’ of what her new post will be.
Keenan will take up the reins next week and is set to take the company
into masthead TV programming, following the relaxation of ITC rules at
the end of last month. He also told Campaign there are plans to launch a
magazine on the same scale as Red at the beginning of next year.
Commenting on plans for masthead TV, Keenan said: ’The change in
regulations on masthead programming makes the whole thing a lot more
exciting. Elle has produced a pilot show through Hachette in France, so
we have some ideas in place.’
Keenan joined Emap Elan last November from Emap Fashion where he
launched the fashion show, 40 degrees, as well as the Womenswear and
