- The Kenco Coffee Company is to sponsor one of London's best known Underground stations, High Street Kensington, as part of a three month long promotion created by J. Walter Thompson.
High Street Kensington station will be transformed into High Street Kenco, with a series of advertising promotional events in and around the station featuring free sampling, competitions and events.
The campaign has been designed to give Kenco complete promotional ownership of the station, with ads appearing on ticket backs, stair risers, over tunnels, banners, tube car panels and buses, as well as conventional poster sites.
The campaign attempts to link the quality of the coffee brand with familiar aspects of the Underground. One poster showing the handle of a full cafetiere of coffee carries the headline: "In emergency, lift handle." All ads carry the end line: "For a real coffee taste you're on the right line."
