Colonel Sanders is back in a big way, marking the end of KFC's chicken shortage that shut down UK stores earlier this year.
The brand has brought its icon to UK TV for the first time in over 40 years in an ad by Mother. The Colonel embodies the kind of determination that helped the fast-food chain weather the crisis. Just like its apology ad earlier this year, this campaign doesn’t shy away from the brand’s troubles, approaching customers with a sense of humour and boldness. Along with the film, KFC is running outdoor ads created by an American artist known for his depictions of pop culture subjects, and a press ad that highlights the 1,009 tries it took before Colonel Sanders perfected his chicken recipe.
