KFC Russia "Value Colonel" by Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam

KFC gets creative with a shoestring budget to promote its value menu.

The Russian ads present Colonel Sanders' economical alter ego, illustrated with affordable materials such as cut newspapers, balloons, cardboard boxes, socks and markers. The "Value Colonel" supposedly shot the campaign on his smartphone and performed the background music himself to keep costs down.

This follows KFC Russia’s "Bucket hat" campaign, which saw the brand turn its classic chicken bucket design into a trendy hat.

The work was written by Daria Ovechkina, art directed by Mariano Garcia Cruz and directed by Evgeniya Onegina through Hype Production.
